Jury strut replacement

Post by RonTurner »

While preparing to install my wings on WR-1 I've found that some of my jury struts are bent some even kinked on the ends. Is there a recommended material for making new ones? 5052 or 6061T6 round tubing or some other that works well? Ron

The jury struts on 41CC are made of steel tubing with the ends flattened and drilled for mounting. I think mine are 3/16" tubing. The whole intent is to create a rigid rectangle and the jury struts are in compression and aren't very long, so it would seem that 6061T6 would work. I'm sure others will chime in though.

Solved my jury strut problem. Mine are 3/4 in. 4130 so I made new one today. Only needed the 2 horizontal ones.
