Horns and fittings

Post by Brian Amato »

Guys, I'm just passing this source along. I have no vested interest in his business. I found him doing a web search for all things Pietenpol.
I wound up buying his set of control horns, all laser cut from 4130 and perfect to the correct dimensions.
Yesterday I bought his set of fuselage and tail fittings. Even got a chance to talk to the gentleman who runs the outfit. It seems his brother is building a Piet and, because he runs a steel fabricating outfit with access to CNC driven laser cutting equipment, he decided to make the stuff his brother needed. Then he decided to make them available to the rest of us as well.
When I figured the time and money spent sourcing the right steel, laying out the parts, hacking them out on my cheesy Harbor Freight metal cutting band saw and getting them just right, this guy's prices aren't that out of line at all.
Maybe you guys are way ahead of me and know all about this company but if not, check this out:

Those parts look beautiful. But how much fun you'd be giving up by buying them. I cut all of my metal fittings with a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder, cleaned up with a bench grinder and sander. I didn't have (or need) a band saw. I enjoyed the process of making those parts. I also knew if I screwed one up (okay, not 'if' and not one), it wasn't a big deal to make more. Cheers, Ken

Free for the cost of shipping.
I mistakenly made my upper motor mount fittings to the dimensions on drawing 6 wich doesn’t appear to provide enough clearance for the Continental mount.
I believe they should work for anyone planing on using a Model A.
