Hmmm... I tried attaching a copy of the article, but apparently the file was toobig. So, I reduced the file size, down to less than 700 kB, and it still gavethe message that the file was too big. According to the rules, 3 MB is themaximum attachment size, so I don't know what the problem is.Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Link to Jack Textor's Pietenpol construction web sitew/ lot

The outstanding thing about Jack's construction web site is that it is wonderfullyorganized by subassembly or topic, AND there are generously-sized thumbnailimages under each topic so you can quickly find what you're looking for andthen click on that photo without having to scroll through them. An excellentsite, and in terms of the 85-year history of the Air Camper, not dated at all!Rather modern, actually... ;o)--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 power, 72x36 Culver propRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: OSH

Wait. Did you say Jill Oakes? Did she fly her Piet down from Canada, eh? LastI heard she was making some repairs to it. Quite the inspiration, that pilot!--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 power, 72x36 Culver propRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

Yes, Jill Oakes. Affectionately known as "Winnipeg Jill".After Brodhead she flew to Michigan to visit family and THEN flew back toOSH.All of this flying was done with her husband as a passenger. Quiteinspiring.Greg Cardinal-----Original Message-----

Oscar and allJill Oakes is one amazingly inspiring person to meet. She is based at a small grassstrip outside of Winnipeg Manitoba. I'm sure most of you share my view thatthere isn't enough young blood at our little grass fields. I complain thatat 52 I'm the "kid" on our strip and pine for more involvement of younger peopleon our field. While I complain about the lack of youth Jill arranges a Cessna150 on her field to be flown by the 99s (women in aviation) as a time builderfor $20.00 and hour. That's Canadian!!! That's like $5.00 US for these girlsto build time. She now has a Cherokee available as well, provides free groundschoolon the field for anyone interested, makes the club house available forbirthday parties, special events and even yoga. Predictably there is now anabundance of young involved people (a group of girls stripped and painted the150 recently). Jill has certainly inspired me to do similar things on my field but I need to remindmyself that I'll have to find the energy that Jill seems to have an abundanceof. She is quite the amazing person and a real advocate for our passionof aviation.Scott Knowlton > On Jul 30, 2016, at 10:55 PM, taildrags wrote:> > > Wait. Did you say Jill Oakes?
