Long Fuselage dimension

Post by PoconoJohn »

The long fuse shows 18 7/8" from rear to turtle deck. The short fuse shows 18". If the horizontal stabilizer is 18", why is the long fuse showing 18 7/8"? I'm trying to figure out where to end the turtle deck. Thanks!

Looking forward to see the replies John. I have the Hstab attached but have not even looked at the Tdeck so now I am aware I might have some figurin to do.

My 1933 Hoopman plans show the horizontal stab being 18" and the mounting space between the end of the turtledeck and the tailpost being the same 18", so I have no idea where the extra 7/8" came from.

I don't think I even noticed that measurement difference!
I put my finished horizontal stab on the fuselage and stopped the turtledeck at the front of the horizontal.

Guess I'll just bring the turtle deck to the 18" mark then. Thanks!
