Vi Kapler style hinges

Pieters;

I've got a new batch of tail hinge castings coming from the foundry. Looks like they misunderstood the order and are sending me double the quantity that I usually get. Even with a reject rate of about 2% of the parts, I will have enough castings for over 100 Air Campers! Even if I sold one set a month, which is like 3x what I usually sell, I'll have a large enough supply for about 10 years. My guess is that the world will be very different in 10 years, and if I live that long I'll be 77 years old and the Air Camper design will be 100 years old! I think this may be the last batch of hinge castings I'll be ordering ;o)

Are these sold "foundry fresh" or milled and ready to use? Too hot down here right now to spend too much time on the grinder...might have to pay my kids to get em cleaned up :D

They are shipped out pretty much as they come out of the molds. Sometimes the sprues are knocked off, but not always.

Brian-??!! You're still out there! Are you still offering your aluminum Piet plates for sale? I still show them on my website along with the brass ones that I sell.

I'll contact you off-line about a set of hinges; thanks.

Yup...I still sell the data plates. I've had to raise the price a bit over the years.
The outfit that prints them for me keeps raising their prices every year so I have to.
Anyone can go to the ebay site:

They really dress up your Piet.

Rick; email me at taildrags@hotmail.com for more info. They are $35 for a set of nine pairs of hinges, as-cast, ready for the builder to finish.

Could you please post your website URL?

Mike; my other website is http://www.flysquirrel.net .

I'm doing a lot of work on VA facilities all over the West coast lately so I've been out more than usual the last few months, but with summer approaching, I hope to get back into my routine of at least spending Saturday afternoons at the hangar and in the air.

I check my email pretty much continuously, so email is the best way to reach me, either in or out of the country. Also, text my mobile phone (in the country) or WhatsApp (out of the country).
