Way back when, Ken decided he wanted aviation (18MM) plugs in the Model A. So he machined a set of bushings for the head. He made them round. We had problems from day one taking the plugs out without the bushings coming with them. So we used slip joint pliers to hold the bushings when removing the plugs. Of course they chewed up the bushings. Ken would say he should've made them from hex stock. So, last December, I went to a local machine shop and had hex flanges made to attach to the plug bushings.

Yesterday I attached them to the bushings. I've always wanted to try brazing with my TIG machine, so I brazed them in place with copper (14 gauge electrical wire). They turned out pretty good. After I paint them I'll install them and see how they work.

Clever piece of work. They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and you sure have the earmarks of one of her children!

After paint. It doesn't look it, but it's a dark green.
