Control Horn GA Steel thickness

Hello All:

I just purchased CNC cut fittings from a place called "Icarus" (on the net). I noticed he cut the control horn material (rudder/elevator/aileron) out of 24 ga but the plans call for 22 ga. (slightly thicker). Does anyone see a problem with using his slightly thinner material? What did you use?

Thanks!

I used .032. As it gets thinner, I think it'll be more difficult to weld. Check this.....it's for sheet. Tubing is different.

The Icarus fittings are made from 4130. I think that is why they are a bit thinner.

You are right. It's taking a lot of practice to weld the material.
