That is not one of Williams mounts. It does have a tray, but his mounts don't have the triangular gussets and are much better welded!

Re: Solid braced ribs?
Yes, those are the butt ribs. The ply sheeting keeps the ribs from deforming when the wing is covered.
The bracing in the trailing section isn't to plans, but would work just as well as what's shown in the plans.
The "cutouts" at the the spar sections are to clear the attach fittings.

The lower rib in the picture is for the ailerons.
The extra supports are for the spars that make up the hinge area for the ailerons.
The upper rib is the standard rib for the rest of the wing.
The plans show where the two types go.

You don’t actually need a CAD program to draw out the metal pieces for the Piet.
Almost any vector graphics program will work.
As will a pencil and paper if you are actually making the parts yourself.

As Terry said, it sounds like you are looking for validation on something you’ve already made your mind up about. There are plenty of aircraft that already fit what you are trying to do, but, it’s experimental aviation. So while it won’t be an Air Camper or a Sky Scout, go ahead and build “your” air...

I'd try to pull the tail ends together more to get the stringers to follow the shape of the fuselage.
I also have my stringers angled toward a common center spot in the arc of the formers.
Here are a couple of in-progress pics from when I was working on mine.

John, yes most of the fittings would benefit from being slightly longer than the plans show. The crossmembers go across the fuselage where the vertical side member junctions are, just like they do on the "short" fuselage.
I left the tailpost off until the sides were glued together, then glued in a solid piece of wood and shaped it to the fuselage sides.- Wed Jan 27, 2021 5:49 pm

Dan, Extending the engine mount is mentioned in the Weight and Balance book, but it is mentioned as not being a good way to adjust the CG. The plane is designed to have the wing move forward and backward to adjust the weight and balance. Why wouldn't you just move the wing as back as designed? It's ...

He is definitely worth contacting about the engine.

Robbie, Yes, per Bernard, the axle should be about 1/2" behind the leading edge. It should be near the front of the leading edge no matter what engine you are using. Why are you extending the motor mount and not moving the wing back? You get a greater change in the CG moving the wing as opposed...
