I have an O-200 on my Air Camper. Your engineer is correct, they are 3/8”. Download Continental Engine Manual Form X-30010 from the internet. You will find the bolt size called out on page 36. My O-200 case was built to use very expensive Lord Mount isolators but I was able to buy a set of adapters ...

I just kind of guestimated mine by the drawings.
I went and took a measurement of it. Turns out it's just a smidge shy of 67 degrees.
That's pretty close to your guestimate.
See post-it below as to whether or not we're talking about the same angle.

Well, I went and added a little trim set up with some string, a bungee and a little crank under the seat. I'm enjoying hands free cruising even when it's hot out. It's seems to have also improved my landings. I guess there really is something to that whole stabilized approach thing they talk about.

I never used steam or anything when bending my longerons. I think it would be tough to try and steam the thing even if you wanted to. Not just because of the size, but also cause of the time you need to fuss around with getting everything straight and squared up.

Good point Mr. Hammond. The control cables do seem get more slack the hotter it gets. I especially notice it in the ailerons. Probably because that's the longest loop. I can't speak to performance as I'm not yet flying but I think it's worth noting that BHP's last original used the coil spring set up.
The earlier plans from the '32 FGM show using a leaf spring from a Model T.
Seems to me Bernard switched to the coil spring design and stuck with it.

Wings will probably go together quicker than you think. I originally figured on one wing per summer (I have a 40 hrs + day job). I wound up finishing both wings in one summer with warm weather to spare.
