Man, that's a tough one. I can't image only one set of cables would stretch while the others didn't.
How well sealed are the ends of your spars? Could one expand more than the other due to moisture?

Re: Control Horns

I made my horns symmetrical (not yet flying). I figured the error was just because the plan's templates were hand drawn. I re-drew the horns on manila folders and cut them out for patterns. Worked pretty good.
As far as the brace fittings I used .090 for the fin and .100 for the h-stab.

Re: Routing Willy Nilly

In the end I chickened out. Routing the entire fuselage seemed like a lot of work and a lot of risk for very little gain. I only routed the 3 major pieces that strengthen the door frame, similar to routing a spar. Incase anyone is curious my port fuselage side weighs 11.4 pounds while the starboard ...

Fellas, thanks for your concern. Criticism is always welcome, especially when it's safety related. I guess I misrepresented my intentions. I do plan on going with the 6" wide hubs hacked from 4130 steel, I'm just hoping to adjust the spoke hole locations to accommodate the standard length spoke...

I’m sort of in between steps on my project so I decided to waste a little time laying out my instrument panel. Free for the cost of shipping.
I mistakenly made my upper motor mount fittings to the dimensions on drawing 6 wich doesn’t appear to provide enough clearance for the Continental mount.
I believe they should work for anyone planing on using a Model A.

I interpreted the 3 piece wing drawing to say that the fabric should be attached to the 2" wide plywood strips that conform around the rib and that the sides of the butt ribs were gusseted normally. I've never covered an airplane (this being my first build) but it seems like 2" of plywood ...

I'm fixin to build my center section and flop as well (American spelling). I was thinking about incorperating magnetic latches like on cabinet doors. Maybe one up top to keep it flopped and one in the hinge joint to hold it down. Might even be able to install under the fabric. Any thoughts?

I really struggled with making the the empennage hinges per the plans. So I thougt I'd share the method (right or wrong) that finally worked for me.
