Couch surfing

Post by danoliver »

For those out there stuck at home. You might often find yourself wasting your days away endlessly surfing the interwebs. Or should I say deticating important time towards homebuilt aviation research. Either way, share some of your favorite links here so we can all get the best of what the worl wide web has to offer.
I like the Dawn patrol's site http://www.dawnpatrol.org/index.php

Dan;

Your post about the Dawn Patrol got me thinking about the EAA Chapter 292 "Noon Patrol" up here in Oregon. That was a group of 13 replica Nieuport 11s (the Graham Lee reproduction with VW power) that were constructed at the same time by members of the Chapter some years ago. The construction pages have been removed from their website, but in roaming around among their other projects, there is (or was) a very interesting VW-powered reproduction of Barnaby Wainfan's FMX-4 "Facetmobile" shown there- https://www.eaa292.org/fmx-4 . On the website is a video of when it first was taxied, bare-bones without fabric covering. I've always been intrigued by that plane.

Yes, surfing some of these aircraft construction websites can be educational, entertaining, and interesting!
