Pietenpol-List: Tailbrace wire idea

Saw a plane at a fly-in a couple of weeks ago that used a different idea for thetailbrace wires. The plane was a Rans S-6, and I noticed that the tailbracewires did not have any turnbuckles. The method used to avoid turnbuckles was toput a pattern of staggered holes in the small brackets attached to the cablesthat get screwed to the tailplanes. If the cable isn't snug enough, move tothe next hole.Well, my description probably has you scratching your head as to what I'm tryingto explain, so here's a picture:Personally, I think I prefer the traditional turnbuckles, but this method is alightweight alternative that has some merit.Bill C.Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ttachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/tail ... ______Date: Fri, 3 Sep 2010 22:31:55 +0000 (UTC)
