I bought the Henrob at Sun-N-Fun last year for $319. I alsobought a Tig 175 from Lincoln Electric. I can tell you BOTHrequire lots of practice. The guy that sells the Henrob isan ace at welding and cutting and my results were less thanspectacular. I'm just getting the hang to aluminum weldingwith the TIG, but 1/16" is the thinnest I can go at thistime. The Henrob is a GREAT cutting tool though. Once you get thehang of it, its is almost like a plasma cutter.Doug________________________________________________________________________________

Itproduces a narrow, soft, hot flame that closely resembles thatof the Henrob, but with a more traditional--i.e., non-pistol grip--torch. I've used the Henrob quite a bit--took a lot of practiceafter breaking in on conventional torches. It's great, but can betough to get into a tight cluster, and it puts your hand too darnedclose to the heat. The Harris solves both those problems. If you do go with the Henrob, get two of the small tip, and boreone out with a #72 drill. Turns out that one of the standard tipsis too small to weld .035-wall tubing comfortably, while the nextone up is too big. The modified tip is just right.Unpaid plug: I bought my Harris equipment from George Biang,at GLB Welding, in Meansville, GA, after seeing it in use at oneof the welding workshops he used to give for Alexander Sportair.Good guy, and knows what he's doing. He also sells the Henroband can probably confirm that suggestion about the tip (just incase what passes for my memory got that drill size wrong!) Headvertises in Sport Aviation and hangs around rec.aviation.homebuilt,if you decide you want the address. Or e-mail me. It's aroundhere somewhere...Usual disclaimer: Just a happy customer.Owen Davies________________________________________________________________________________
