Ray; my comment about the weight of the hinges is on the "how the hinges are made"webpage that I posted the link to. Down at the bottom of that page is a pictureof a finished pair of the hinges with this caption:"... and here, after some 396 separate hand operations, is a pair of hinges. Approximateweight of this pair of hinges, minus the mounting screws and pivot pinhardware, is 0.64 oz, or about 0.38 lb for the complete set of 9 pairs. Sinceall of this weight is aft of the CG and on a very long moment arm, keepingthese parts light is important. Believe it or not, the moment created by this1/3 of a pound for a set of hinge castings out at the tail of my Air Camper isthe same as that created by 3 gallons of fuel (18 lbs) in the nose tank. Usethin AN washers on the clevis pins, don't use pins that are any longer than necessary, and clip the excess leg lengths off the cotter pins before setting them."--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 power, 72x36 Culver propRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Toolstock???

Hwy Barry!Sorry, no Toolstock this year. A very good friend had some very serious healthissues and needed quite a lot of help. Just never had time to get the place ready. However, am already planning on onehere in GA next feb.Would also like to have a smaller one up in WI sometime. Kind of want that onemore Piet or airplane related at the outset. I may start a thread over on thenew BPA site to see what would help folks the most. Thanks for asking! Going to sun and fun?Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

I was afraid of that. I have some interesting guns to bring and shoot. Might fly down for a day or two, but most likely won't. I have a GlockShooting match next weekend and need to practice a little next week. (Forthose interested in a family oriented shooting group, google GSSF. There arematches every weekend all over this great country)Barry-----Original Message-----

Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Brodhead Pietenpol AssociationKeep at it Charles! I think the new forum is going to work well. Don't wantto miss your input. While I find the Forum to be farily easy to use, I do not find itintuitive. However, being the Luddite I am, I don't find any website, list, forum or anything but papyrus to be intuitive.Computer and Smartphone designers say "this is intuitive" BS. It involvessomething above hunting and gathering or building. If I throw a rock atyour head. Ducking is intuitive. If I send a malicious worm to yourcomputer, there is no intuitive reaction.Blue Skies.Steve DOn Tue, Mar 7, 2017 at 5:37 AM, Charles N. Oscar,Thanks for the response. Now I wish I had made my motor mount another 2" longerfor my SkyScout. But by slanting my cabanas back almost 6", I'm now where I shouldbe with the CG. With a 200lb butt in the cockpit, my CG is fine until Iget down to 30 minutes of fuel left. That means I've flown for over two hours, not too likely! Maybe by the time I fly it, I can loose 10 lbs! Thanks, RaySent from my iPad> On Mar 8, 2017, at 7:53 PM, taildrags wrote:> > > Ray; my comment about the weight of the hinges is on the "how the hinges aremade" webpage that I posted the link to.
