Subject: Pietenpol-List: OT testimonial for Schweis bifold doorsThe Hangar I have has a bi-fold door by Miracle Span built in 2004. Today Igot ahead of myself (AKA Had a brain fart) and hit open before I unlatchedthe door. It stopped when it got in a bind and tripped the reset switch.Miracle Span is out of business.I got on the Schweiss doors website and sent a contact email. I was texteda number to call within 5 minutes. I called Dave and he told me exactlywhat to do even though this was not a Schweiss door.Apparently Schweiss sold bifold doors to Miracle Span. Then Miracle Spancopied them and went out on their own and later went out of business.Great service on a Sunday on a product that was not made by them. I willlook at them if I ever need another door.-- Blue Skies,Steve D________________________________________________________________________________

Hey SteveI too have a Miracle Span hangar with their in-house supplied door. A previousowner did the same thing you did and it trashed the gearbox so you can consideryourself lucky. I agree that Schweiss is an excellent company to deal with. They offered me a retrofit kit to convert my door to the later straps in lieuof the cables. Haven't decided if it's worth the $$$ yet.DaveRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

I seem to remember it was in the $5k range for a 50 ft door. I believe that includednew take-up reels and the mounting hardware. MAY have included new motor/gearbox.Call em up.Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

Charles; I had the same initial reaction and was going to give up until I realizedthat when I "applied" to join, they sent me an email that had a link in itthat I had to click to return the handshake, so to speak. Once I clicked onit, I went right to the site and put in my username and password and *voila*-!--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 power, 72x36 Culver propRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: please post a pic

I just posted a few pix of 41CC on the new BPA site. I will point out that mineis NOT a show winning airplane, it's a flyer... and a fun one at that. I neverworry about anybody touching the airplane, sitting in it, fiddling with thecontrols or knobs (except for the mag switch!!), leaning on it- and there isalways room on it for another drip or smear of Aeroshell 50, another splatterof mud on the underside, another little clump of grass from passenger or pilotshoes in the cockpit. There is nothing more depressing than an airplane thatnever flies, spending its life sitting on the ramp or in a hangar. They areall nice to look at, and to smell, and to inspect, but they are so quiet andlifeless if they never get to fly. I would rather have an unpolished, imperfect, unremarkable airplane that you can walk up to and the engine is still tick-tick-tickingas it cools down and people are walking away smiling as they getout of it after a flight. A few drips out the breather tube as it sits on theapron and a lot of bugs smashed on the prop and windshield. Yep... it's a flyer.--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 power, 72x36 Culver propRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: please post a pic
