We are considering selling this very well built airframe. We bought it for the engine, but found it needed several things, like independent brakes and a way in and out without being banged on the head with an errant flip. It has flown exactly twice, in 2006. It currently has a radio and Cub master cylinders, but they are both expensive parts and we are not thinking that they would be part of any deal.
I have a partner - this is not an offer to sell - just thinking about it. Would we be in the ballpark at five grand less engine, radio, and master cylinders?
It would come with a nice new prop, and if pressed, we could hang a 65 Cont on it.
We are currently doing medium speed taxi tests - not in a hurry, and looking for an expanded area of operation so we can fly it at our home airport. But between us we have four Cubs, so flying this thing is not a priority. The feds have promised to try to expand the area to include our airport.
I don't check here often - but can be found on the J3 Cub forum or the Champcitabria forum.
