This is the most important thing I have learned so far, after finishing 11 ribs: when cutting pieces for ribs (or other parts), cut pieces about a 1/16" too long. That way avoiding useless pieces that are too short. You can always trim long pieces. I think I learned this by rib #3 or 4.
