I was at the airport the other day and asked one of the ultralite pilotswhat the metal angles were on the leading edge of his wing. He told methey were vortex generators that helped to increase lift and decreasestall speed.by directing better airflow over the wing. Thought theymight be used on the Piet to improve performance. If not it makes forinteresting info. I just typed in" vortex generator" in the search fordifferant links. Phil,The Hawker 800 XP uses 'em too. I think they are more effective in the rain.With a wet wing, the air tends to become seperated from the wing, and thevortex generators help to prevent this from hapening, especially with alaminar flow (high speed) airfoil.Chuck________________________________________________________________________________
