Hi Mark - Wish we could've talked you guys into Lake Whitney. Had a real nicetime. We're shooting for a spring campout. Love to see you there.Yes, I bought their package. He says he built it all to work together. The electronicsgurus can fight that out. I didn't have anything so I needed it allanyway. The radio's just a standard ICOM handheld with the extra power of theantenna and the convenience of the aircraft power supply. I think the headsetsare lightspeed? Should be on the website. Anyway, I've used other headsets- some work well and some don't. Complete disclosure: I originally hid the antenna down the back of the fuselageinside. I've had trouble talking to some control towers with that setup, havingto get quite close or approach from a different angle to talk. I've sinceattached a redneck antenna holder that I install vertically if we're going intoa towered airport but will stow discretely if not. I can hear control towers 20 miles away consistently no matter where the antennais. I sometimes have trouble talking to them, though. I can hear and talkto other aircraft 30-50 miles away no matter where the antenna is.One last point: the intercom system is really handy.--------Kevin "Axel" PurteeNX899KPAustin/Georgetown, TXRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Corvair-how many should I buy?

I took ownership of an engine (RH code) the other day from another builder. I havenot yet done anything with it (see photo, more available if you'd like). Ijust received a call from a gentleman responding to an ad I placed in the localCorvair groups newsletter looking for an engine. He has some (most notable:110HP '65 and '66, one a shift and one an automatic...does not know engine code),$100 each. He's within easy driving distance. I'm tempted to grab one ortwo and if I don't need them, I'd have them if another builder could use them.Where you able to use one engine, or did you need other engines to rob for parts?Do you think I should pass on this or go check it out?Thank you!Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ttachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/corv ... __________

If it were in my area I would buy both engines if they were the correct 110 hp 65 66 code. We would love to have a spare engine just in case. You do not expect your engine=2C if properly built to fail but all machines=2C yes even certified aircraft engines=2C can fail. It would be nice to have a spare just in case. That is only my opinion. hopefully you never need the parts. Vic N414MV Tulare Ca. > Subject: Pietenpol-List: Corvair-how many should I buy?
