Grega GN-1 W&B

Post by rightforlineup »

Looking for info on GN-1 W&B.

Found a material error in the builder's calculations on mine that is causing me to want to dive deeper and don't see anything in the plans that conveyed to me. The actual CG is aft of where he said it was, if weights are right.

For anybody with a GN-1 what % of MAC do you use for allowable CG range? Now's a great time to plan some mods while my motor is off and I'm prop-shopping. Might go w/metal if I need weight on the nose. I do have the Wynne Piet W&B manual.

Also interested in as-built empirical data for Grega esp O-200. I promise to to do a writeup and return the favor.

Cheers,
Bob

My GN-1 design range was 18.1 inches - 20.7 inches aft of datum. The datum was the wing leading edge. Aerodynamic center of lift was 14 inches aft of datum. Cheers, Don

thanks Don, I found a second set of plans. Jives with your info; much appreciated.

I'm actually going through and re-verifying my datums but having some "typicals" to cross check will help. Not trying to be overly anal about the W&B (well actually I am) but I'm at a point where I can change things if needed and want to maximize the ability to allow others to ride in/fly my GN-1.
