Clamping pressure

Post by zippythehog »

How can I measure clamping pressure for gluing gussets? AC43.13 recommends 125-150#/sq” for softwood. I couldn’t find any other recommendations for T88. I don’t want to use any clamp and hope for the best.

Bonding pressure is mentioned in the white oak/teak section.

Thank you.
How does one determine clamping pressure per square inch?

"minimal pressure -- just enough to ensure contact"

The pressure you quote is for resorcinol glue and doesn't apply to epoxy. Contact pressure is all that's required. Read the T88 instructions.
