Cockpit Cowling

I'm forming my cockpit cowlings and wondering if most people simply screw them down into the underlying wood or insert nut locks to use. I had reinforced the instrument panels around their periphery with layered plywood to 1/2" thick. I don't see any guidance in the plans. It would seem screwing them down would be fine but on an airplane subject to vibration and some flexing, I'm not sure what is correct.

On 34KP they were screwed to the longerons. No nut plates.

NX41CC, same thing. Screwed directly to the longerons using PK screws.

Same, just used brass #6 wood screws. If you go with flat heads and line up all the slots in the same direction then you can see if any are backing out at a glance.

The workmanship on that plane looks impeccable, Dan. Talk about a perfect fit of the cowling aluminum around the cabane tube!
