Brodhead Pietenpol Association

Hello all,

I just bought a Pietenpol project I would say 75 percent complete. The original builder has built and covered the ailerons and elevators already and was planning on using piano hinge to attach to horizontal and wing. Any thoughts on this? Looks like he was going to use countersunk wood screws to attach hinge on both surfaces.

Using piano hinges on the ailerons is pretty common now.
I’ve seen wood screws used, but I used nut plates and bolts.
