Does anyone remember the name of the motorcycle wheel company that wouldmake custom rims and spokes for wire piet wheels? I think it wasConcannons in California, but have lost track of their literature. Ifnot them, does anyone know of another custom rim and spokemanufacturer? I have already made the hubs and need to get rims andspokesAny other Model A fans? I am convinced that the original engine is thebest, but cannot get comfortable with a magneto. Some years back Italked to the supervisor in the shop at Mallory Ignition systems abouttheir electronic system for the Pietenpol. He told that he did notrecommend the electronic unit, Uni-something, but he would ride with meif I used their dual point, centrifugal advance distributor. Theyactually make one that fits in the distributor hole without anymodifications. I have been running my engine with a '71 pintodistributor, but had to enlarge the mounting hole in the head.I am also looking for an aluminum, high compression head. Any leads?john h.________________________________________________________________________________

If they don't answer, it's probably because of thenoise of the machines in the shop, hammering out the rolled threads onthe spokes that they make. They can lace up wheels on your home made hubs. Robert reminded me tooffset the holes in the hubs, for the inside and outside row of spokes.Apparently they had had someone send them hubs with the holes directlyopposite each other, which doesn't really work very well.Lauren mailsorter-102-3.iap.bryant.webtv.net (8.8.8-wtv-d/ms.dwm.v7+dul2)Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 06:02:59 -0400________________________________________________________________________________
