Hi,I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Glenn Gordon, I live inBuffalo Grove, IL and I work as a Mechanical Design Engineer.I am seriously interested in building a Pietenpol powered with a Corvair engine. This will be my third airplane: I have previously restored a 450 Stearman, andbuilt an RV-6.I will be at Brodhead this weekend to see and admire all the Pietenpols. I'llhave my camera and notebook with me as well to document everything I learn.Since I haven't flown in a Pietenpol yet, this is obviously something I am interestedin doing before taking on another homebuilt project. If there is anyonewho would be able to offer ride in exchange for me buying them fuel I wouldbe extremely grateful. I am excited about the prospect of getting back into anairplane with Cub-like simplicity and elegance.Keep the blue side up!-Glenn--------This e-mail was written using 100% post-consumer recycled data. Glenn,Welcome to the wonderful world of Pietenpols. Look for me at Brodhead andwe'll see what we can do, if your not overly super-sized. Normally I preferto take girl passengers, around 18 to 20 years old, but we'll see.Pietenpol with a dark green fuselage and cream colored wings and tail.Jack PhillipsNX899JP "Icarus Plummet"Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia-----Original Message-----

Initiation ritual... hmm. Not sure. Could just have something to do with the fact that you walked in the room whenall of us were getting our gear packed for the best weekend of the year. Thelist has been pretty active over the last week or so. As you probably read, ourother new friend Derek managed to fire up one of our favorite debates, "WhyCorvairs make the best airplane engines"... which normally goes on for days, but could fizzle temporarily as our minds wander to beets, brats, Saturday afternoondrawings and the cove. You on the other hand... well, fumunda and smegmaare currently dominating your thread. Pretty thin on the howdy doos or welcomeaboard comments. The reason? That is debatable. Some people just haveit I guess (speaking of the cheese again). But I think you owe a big thanks toone Mr. Hofmann... I'm telling ya, you can't take that guy anywhere.--------Mark ChouinardWings, Center Section and Empannage framed up - Working on FuselageRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Re: New to the list, Illinois.Call it a feeding frenzy of pent up airoplane fervor, akin to the buy one get one free lawn chair sale during midnight madness at the Walmart superstore. Its just Brodhead overload. We have all been counting the days since our last beet and brautfest. Where the dress of the day demanded Pith helmets and beets. There are the old stand by activities and then there are the whoda think it things that arise out of spontaneous acts of others kiss no tellin. One thing is for certain it will be interesting and it will be great. This wonky sentence below should read:I have done some revisions and a couple of new designs that you may have seen, but quickly:Also, there are no pocket T-shirts available on CafePress. Thanks Don,There are a ton of aviation related T-shirts out there and I find most of them to be bad. So I decided a few years ago to do stuff that I like. CafePress can be a bit high priced but their quality is good and I don't have to personally stock 2000 mediums and smalls I would never sell. Plus. some of the clocks and shirts for dogs are kinda neat. See you next week.-john-John HofmannVice-President, Information TechnologyThe Rees Group, Inc.2424 American LaneMadison, WI 53704Phone: 608.443.2468 ext 150Fax: 608.443.2474Email: jhofmann(at)reesgroupinc.comOn Jul 15, 2011, at 3:50 PM, Don Emch wrote:> > Holy Cow John!
