No. A little closer attention to weight and balance, and other riggingissues should help. It is possible to use the horizontal brace wires toadjust for nose up/down, too.Gary

John,I've never seen a spacer like that on a Pietenpol. Have you run an accurateweight and balance on the airplane? My guess is the plane was quitetailheavy and they needed more lift out of the tail. If it is thattailheavy, you should conisder moving the wing aft to get it somewhere closeto the normal CG. Pietenpols tend to be tailheavy, and while the airfoilcan accommodate cg's slightly aft of 33% MAC (20" from leading edge) Iwouldn't push that.Jack PhillipsNX899JPSmith Mountain Lake, Virginia _____

Yes as near as I could. The scar is an inch or so short of AC 43.13-1B. I couldnot and keep the rib spacing. The scarf is nearly 24" long.--------Jerry Dotson59 Daniel Johnson RdBaker, FL 32531Started building NX510JD July, 2009wing, tailfeathers done, fuselage rollingusing Lycoming O-235Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ______Date: Mon, 15 Aug 2011 10:49:05 -0500Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Horizontal Stabilizer spacer
