yeah=2C did the ribs 2 years ago - this is how it goes for me... A very little at a time. The spar material I got today will probably last me a year or more before I start the other wing. Fuse and tail are pretty much done too. So once I get the center section done=2C I'll have to bite the bullet and start doing the metal fittings and so forth.Just a few short - or long - years away from completion.Keep kicking on the ribs=2C they'll be done before you know it. I had family members come over and help on them and I asked them to put their name on the one they completed. Kindof a cool thought knowing you're hanging from ribs built by your family members.Tom B.

Isn't it satisfying every time you hear another thing about the Piet that is "justright", or at least not nasty? It's no wonder it's been around for so longin almost exactly the same form as it was 85 years ago! There are only a fewmachines of equal complexity and duty that are still around in their same formafter almost a century. The crowbar and ball-peen hammer come to mind ;o)--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 powerRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Priceless

Welcome Jim!Being an ex-Brit, I think you'll find us colonists fairly friendly!!Seriously though, the Pietenpol community is one of the best parts of mytwelve-year Piet experience. I doubt I'd be flying yet except for the help, support and encouragement I've found on this forum. We don't have any rulesreally. Sometimes we have to have to remind eachother to exercise commonsense, respect and good humor. and we often refer people to the archives andwww.westcoastpiet.com , both of which are awealth of information where you'll find many of your questions answered. The Pietenpol Aircamper is a great plane; it is what it is. A no-frills,"puddle jumper" designed in the twenties. The first things you'll hear willbe: 1. build to the plans as much as possible 2. keep it light 3. buy thethree Tony Bingiles books on building from EAA 4. keep it light 5.build to the plans 6. use wisdom and discernment as to whose advice youtake 7. build to the plans 8. keep it light 9. don't try to turn aPiet into something it wasn't meant to be and 10. try to get to the annualBrodhead, WI fly-in the weekend before that "other" flyin in Oshkosh 11.join the Brodhead Pietenpol Association and get the newsletter for ideas andencouragement while building and finally. build to the plans and keep itlight!Other than that, fire away! This stuff was new to all of us at one point!!Douwe________________________________________________________________________________Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Priceless
