Hello Don,Looks like you posted a few days ago. There was a Piet in the Verde Valley. Itwas at Camp Verde. I remember that it was a fairly nice one. It was hangaredthere, Maybe still is. I can give you a contact name offline of a friend ofmine who lives on the airport. He should be able to tell you if the plane isstill there. I haven't been there in about five years. Welcome to the list. Don't forget to check out the best Pietenpol referance siteout there. Our good friend Chris Tracy has put a lot of effort in buildingthis site, and it is a great resource. www.westcoastpiet.comThere is a Piet gathering on the west coast as well. It is near Hollister CA onthe first Sat. of June. Some of us arrive on Friday and most leave Sunday morning.Great grass airport and on field camping. You can catch more detailson this site in April or May when it gets closer. We had some guys come fromthe Flagstaff area last year. Maybe you could hook up with them? I'm sure there are other Piets closer to you. You could try searching the FAAwebsite for them. You are always welcome to come look at mine in Lancaster CA.Cheers,--------Scott LiefeldFlying N11MS since March 1972Steel TubeC-85-12Wire WheelsBrodhead in 1996Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Sun n Fun 2016 Project

Hello all and especially new members/buildersThe wood demonstration shop that builds projects at Sun n Fun is looking for alucky individual who wants a head start and some hands-on experience working withwood. Here's the deal. We have enough nice Douglas Fir and Okoume plywood to build acomplete fuselage OR we have enough to build several sets of tail feathers. If you are a new builder who wants to learn the fine art of wood aircraft constructionunder the experienced tutelage of Skip Gadd, Ben Charvet, and the restof the usual suspects, let us know and we can help. Our preference is to haveyou there for at least part of the time but that is not a requirement. Theonly other requirement is that it's an as-is, where-is deal. You've got toprovide your own transportation back home. I will be driving from Florida toMaine in early June and if you live close to the I-95 corridor, I can deliverbut other than that, you're on your own. We are not locked in to fuselage or tail feathers and if you have some other ideas,we are willing to consider them. For example, if you have the wing sparsand ribs ready for assembly, we could probably do that.Contact Skip, Ben, or myself for further information.Dave AldrichRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ______Date: Mon, 16 Nov 2015 11:27:37 -0600Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Sun n Fun 2016 Project

We don't have to stick to Pietenpols, either. Two years ago we built floats that Dick Navratil was going to use with his Pietenpol. We could be working on any type of wooden airplane. Most of the questions I had last year were from folks restoring classic wooden airplanes.Ben CharvetOn 11/16/2015 12:27 PM, Tony Crawford wrote:> Hi, Skip and company Built my Fin and rudder last year!
