A lot of what I nowknow is not going to help me much any more on this one but would make asubsequent project come out better. Sand anything that comes within a 1/2" or so of the fabric reallysmooth! If you are ham handed like me you'll manage to mash the fabricagainst the not-quite-smooth structure and sand defects (read craters)into your fabric.
