My Technical Adviser said I needed cable guides on all pulleys where the cable turned morethan a few degrees. I installed a bunch of them. The consequence of a jammed control cable is not one I care to consider. I used pulleys for the bend the aileron cables make at the back seat and they all got cable guards there also.
