Avill:I debated as to whether to send this to you off line, as I fear asking these questionswill get you covered up with requests to do safety margins on all kindsof data, and that is probably not what you wanted when you posted this greatinformation!!But, as there are many that are considering the Riblett 612 and 613.5 for theirplanes, I think a relative strength reference might serve the community at large, especially compared against the data on the original piet design, so I offerthe question publicly. And with what will most likely be the most egregiousdimensions (as far as safety is concerned)... my planned wing dimensions.I plan to add 2 feet to each side of the wing, with a spar length of 182.5", or15.2 feet per spar. The front spar is 5.75" deep and 1" wide. (Perhaps routed to a .5" thick web...or .25 if it is stronger). The rear spar will be 5.625" (or 5 5/8") thick. This fills the bays of both ribsslots in the wing. So, how does a spar 1" thick, 182.5" long, and 5.75" or 5.625" compare againstthe original piet spars? My wing span will most likely not be duplicated by the majority of the builders,so it would stand to reason if these numbers stand up to stress calculations, the shorter wing spans would do even better...MANY thanks for the assistance... And no, I have no lawyers. :o) I just want someball park idea of margins.MarkRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Happy Mothers Day

Craig,In my Parris Island boot camp days they first taught us to mix a broken up, ground-upbar of Jeweler's Rouge with a bottle of Brasso. It worked well in strippingthe spray-on coating off of new brass. But I think the Tumbler idea is awhole lot less work.--------Semper Fi,Terry HandAthens, GARead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Happy Mothers Day
